Red Dirt Heart Imago Kindle Edition
When Charlie Sutton’s neighbour Greg is notified by the Queensland government that they intend to run a pipeline through his property, Charlie vows to help him fight it. Then Travis remembers seeing butterflies at the creek near their joining fence line - the same butterflies they couldn’t find in any Australian butterfly book. Hopeful this might be their only chance to stop the development, they seek the help of a specialist.
Lawson Brighton-Gale receives an email request to identify a butterfly in the Outback, only to discover it’s not an Australian butterfly at all. But that’s not all he discovers. The name on the request is familiar to Jack. An old friend from his university days, who also happened to be his old friend with benefits, Charlie Sutton.
Years ago, two out-of-towners met at the University of Sydney. Both studying environmental sciences, both hundreds of miles from home, and both finding their worlds open to new experiences, they fell into bed together. Meeting again after all this time, in front of Lawson and Travis, won’t be awkward at all, right?
Lawson and Jack’s trip to Sutton Station certainly doesn’t go to plan, and what they take back to Tasmania isn’t just butterflies, but a cocoon of possibilities.

About the author
N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance. She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn't have it any other way. She is many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don't let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.
She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things... but likes it even more when they fall in love.
She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal. She's been writing ever since.
~
N.R. Walker was voted 2019 Goodreads M/M Romance Members' Choice Awards All-Time Favorite Author
and 2020 Goodreads M/M Romance Members' Choice Awards Hall of Fame

If you've never ready either series, get yourself organized and start with the Red Dirt and then follow with Imago--it's a logical progression over a period of time with two couples that you will never forget.
Charlie and Travis, Lawson and Jack--two extraordinary couplings serendipitously come upon each other in a novella that N.R Walker handles smoothly, compassionately and brilliantly.
Alternating chapters from each character's POV, Walker draws us into a warm, loving and near tragic tale where our four men become superheroes of the genre.
And she ends it with the single most moving, and somewhat hilarious, final page one can imagine.
Magnifienct accomplishment, a great after-dinner read.
I loved seeing more of Charlie's possessiveness and Travis' smug expressions. Travis knows he's got Charlie wrapped around his little finger. And then Law, and his ever present bow-tie and nerdy ways. Gotta love him. It was a bit weird having a history between Jack and Charlie, but I wasn't worried about mixed signals or jealousy that might have led to any problems (like I would have been with other couples/authors). These guys are solid and were such a joy to spend more time with.
And that bonus picture at the end. So stinkin' cute. I'm still smiling. Thanks N.R. Walker. <3
Charlie and Travis are trying to think of a way to help stop a pipeline from going across their neighbor's land. In order to do so, there has to be a good reason like an interference with the ecology. Travis's recollection of rare butterflies turns out to be their reason. In order to claim that as a way to stop the pipeline, they need to find an expert to verify that what Travis saw is as rare as he thinks they are and Lawson Brighton-Gayle is just the man to help them do that.
When Jack realizes that Charlie Sutton, the man they are going to help, is someone he hooked up with in college, he hesitates to tell Lawson for fear of his reaction, but Lawson finds the irony of it hysterically amusing. Jack is relieved that Lawson is not upset but fails to see the humor in it. Back at Sutton Station, it's Travis who thinks the whole situation is hilarious which peeves Charlie. He isn't ashamed of having been with Jack, but to have to meet him and his husband face-to-face, is almost too overwhelming. Meeting Charlie and his husband is fraught with anxiety and misgivings especially for Jack but Lawson believes that the past should stay in the past. Travis has basically the same reaction as Lawson does. Yet, hearing about an ex-lover is one thing; meeting him in person is another.
I can't think of any story N.R. could have written that would have enjoyed more. Having Charlie and Travis and Lawson and Jack in the same story is a dream come true. The story emphasizes their good natures and special charms and it's no surprise that they would be able to put the past behind them and become friends. Thanks, N.R., for this special gift.
Combing characters from two fabulous series, this short novelette is the icing on the cake for fans. This is a sweetly nostalgic story visiting old friends (Charlie and Travis from RDH) and seeing another snippet from Jack and Lawson from Imago/Imagines.
This is the perfect accompaniment to both series and I would recommend you read both first. Read the RDH series first and then the Imago/Imagines books. This crossover will make you sigh with happiness and although very very satisfying, as with most of Ms Walkers books, you still want more.
The red dirt desert pulls people into the beauty of day and night, but it still can bite when you least expect it. It may house African butterflies in a safe environment, but it can be destroyed in a pipe dream.
Charlie and Travis meet Jack and his husband over butterflies. Well, Jack and Charlie met years before. In spite of some possible stress of being together with their respective husband's in tow, the need to help Greg save his land is most important.
The desert adventure does not end as expected, but does result in renewed commitment as Milly teaches family life to burly outdoorsmen. Soon Jack will be buying more bow ties and taking more pictures.
I disliked Red Dirt Heart 4 and almost regretted not stopping at book 3 so it was great to have the guys back in a book I actually liked. I feel like it was a great epilogue for both series and I loved how the author gave each of the 4 men a chance "to talk".
There's no real drama, no big bad, no tension between the characters. It's like a nice piece of cake at the end of an enjoyable meal. The little bonus and if I ever re-read Red Dirt Heart, I'll probably skip book 4 and pretend this is the ending.
As for Imago / imagines, I feel like this was a great way to end Jake and Lawson's story. I can't say I was surprised by the ending but it was super cute.

Yes, it is the nice little bow on everything and yes, it mostly is just to see the guys again but it was sooo nice to read about them again. <3
I strongly advice to read the series Red Dirt and Imago before reading this one.
I loved Red dirt heart series, really loved. So seeing Charles and Travis again was a huge emotion to me. And they were awesome as always. [I'll always read anything about them. Can I wish for more Mrs. Walker? Lol]
Imago series is great as well, and seeing Jack and Lawson interacting with Charlie and Travis was so good.
P.S: DO NOT read this book without reading the entire Red dirt heart series and Imago series first... This will happen after the end of the series... so, if you don't want spoilers, It's a tip.
If you haven't read the Red Dirt Heart and Imago series (for shame!) you may struggle a bit with this, because there is not much in the way of introductions to the characters, but for those that have this is a gift for you too, I am sure.

✔ Letto! Oh.mio.dio!😲😲 Ohmiodio!Ohmiodio!Ohmiodio!Ohmiodio!
